How to keep video meetings working on weak internet
Practical steps for participants and hosts to keep a meeting usable on slow or unstable connections.
Audio first, video second
A meeting is useful as long as people can hear each other. Video is the first thing to sacrifice when the connection is weak. KEZAYO keeps audio clear first and lowers video quality when needed, and every participant can turn video off to save bandwidth.
What participants can do
Move closer to the router or use a cable; close downloads, streaming and other tabs; and switch to mobile data if home Wi-Fi is unstable. Use headphones to reduce echo, which also makes audio easier to hear on a poor line.
What hosts can do
Ask participants to turn off video unless it is needed, share a document in advance instead of relying on a large screen share, and keep sessions shorter. If a participant drops, they can rejoin from the same link.
Choose the right device
A phone on mobile data is often more stable than a laptop on weak Wi-Fi. The Android app can also be lighter than a heavy browser tab.
Plan a fallback
Share the meeting link and a backup way to reach you — for example a messaging group. For important meetings, test the connection in advance and keep mobile data ready.
