What is SFU (selective forwarding unit)?
An SFU is a server that receives each participant’s media stream and forwards it to the others, which scales better than every person sending video to everyone else.
Why it matters
Without a selective forwarding unit, every participant would have to send video to every other participant, which collapses beyond a handful of people. An SFU receives one stream from each sender and forwards it to those who need it, letting meetings grow.
How it works in KEZAYO Meet
KEZAYO routes meeting media through SFU media servers, and webinar attendees receive streams without sending video.
A practical tip
For very large audiences, use a webinar so most attendees only receive video instead of sending it.
